TTrenton police detectives search for evidence at the scene of Trenton police detectives search for evidence at the scene of a shooting in front of the the delicatessen at the corner of Oakland and Hoffman Streets in Trenton on Tuesday morning.

TRENTON N.J.-
TRENTON:

Rasheed McNair, a man with an extensive criminal record was shot in the upper arm on Tuesday around noon on Oakland St. in the cities infamous West Ward.. The 28 year old McNair was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his wound.

According to witnesses, McNair was being pursued by a gunman through the housing project when he snatched up young boy and used him as a sheild. After stumbling over the curb in front of the delicatesion located at the conner of Hoffman Ave.and Oakland Street., McNair dropped the child and was then shot as the boy escaped uninjured.

McNair was released from stste prison in November of 2007, and has served time four separate times since 1998.

On March 4th. gunfire broke out on on three separate streets in the Wesr Ward causing Trenton police to initiate their "zero tollerance" policy.
